Your new Greater Possibilities System upgrade is here! Will you choose it?
Have you been living by an old GPS and wondering why you end up in the same sticky situations?
“You have this mental masturbatory GPS that you believe runs your life and you can only go on the predetermined pathways that are on the GPS,” Dr. Dain Heer said recently.
What if it were easier―and more fun―to invent who you are in every moment?
In the 1970s, the founder of Access Consciousness, Gary Douglas went on a trip to Europe by himself. Instantaneously, other people’s definitions of him became irrelevant.
“The important thing that I learned on my trip was I had been my dog’s owner, my car’s owner, my parent’s child. All the titles I had lived by, predetermined what I could be and do,” he said.
Realizing he was free to choose anything and change those choices as often as he liked, Gary set out to create his life very differently.
He began each day by asking, Who am I today, and what grand & glorious adventure will I have?
“If you changed your life as often as it needs to change, you’ll have a whole different universe,” Gary added.
“Instead, you’re trying not to change―while saying you want to change―and wondering why you can’t change it!”
What makes you unique?
On this month’s Creative Edge telecall, Gary and Dain asked participants: Do you invent yourself every day or try and come to conclusion about who you are?
For many people, operating on autopilot based on what others (and they) have been predetermined seems easier.
What would you rather be? Predictable and predetermined or undefined and open to infinite possibilities?
Several years ago Gary got to the point where he was content to sit on the couch watching TV all day. But then he found himself changing channels constantly because he wanted to have something different. If you have no reference points, you have to change.
“You’ve got to look at everything from the point of view of what is possible?” he said. “If I’m not this, then what can I be? If I’m not this, what can I choose?”
So, what is it you are not inventing that you could invent? What choices do you have that you are not choosing?
