What if you could create a holiday season of fun and delight rather than exhaustion and fight?
7 tools in 7 days to bring you home to the magic and greatness of you this holiday season!
Day 7
Several years ago, I was watching a movie. I don’t remember the name of the movie or what it was about. I was preoccupied with other things as the movie played and remember very little of what occurred. There was one scene though, I do remember. It was a simple scene. A little girl. Riding in the back of a cab. Driving through the streets of New York during the holidays. The streets were brightly lit with lights of all colors. Trees that seemed to reach as high as cathedrals covered with holiday decorations. As the little girl sat, looking out the window, eyes wide with wonder, there was a song playing on the radio… “Do You Believe in Magic?”
I had to admit, at that time in my life, magic was a thing of the past. Something I used to believe in. Something that had long ago disappeared. I made a choice that day. A choice to return to the magic I once knew. That place where life had a sense of wonder, where magic and miracles were possible every moment of every day.
Many of us have a sense of wonder and of magic as children. We believe in the impossible. We are a bit like Lucy in the Chronicles of Narnia. Eyes wide open. Waiting to be surprised by what happens next.
And then, as the saying goes, “Life happens.” What that really means is that we are told that magic isn’t real. We are told that we need to get our heads out of the clouds and learn to live in the “real world.” Echoes of, “What’s the matter with you?” Or, “How many times do I have to tell you?” And “When are you going to grow up?” And so we do…
What if you could return to the magic and the miracles and the wonder of living? What if that could be your reality once again?
Tool #7 – BE the magic!
In his book, Magic, You are it. BE it. Gary Douglas founder of Access Consciousness® says “The true magic of life is the ability to receive everything.” He goes on to say, “Have you ever truly looked at a tree with its leaves on? It’s so outrageously abundant. You have to consider: Does the universe ever spare anything? Does the universe ever say, “Oh, you know, we’ve got a leaf shortage right now?” Could you go without a tree? No. The universe gives the tree everything it has to offer and the tree receives it without reservation. And that’s the magic.”
If magic is about receiving, then choosing to have the magic of life is about choosing to receive EVERYTHING. How bout it? Would you be willing to lower all barriers and simply receive? What if, this holiday season, your target was to receive everything around you, without judgment? How much magic might that create? Would you be willing to find out? Surprise yourself!
