Access Consciousness® in Mental Health?

Imagine a world where people are empowered to know that they know!

There have been so many debates lately about mental health and how people are treated, the number one answer being people’s diagnosis and the number one solution medication.

I have been working in mental health as a clinical psychologist for many years. After my education I was looking forward to seeing what this world has to offer in treating people. And when reality hit, it hit hard. What I saw was devastating. People desiring to commit suicide, panic attacks, schizophrenia, major depressions and the answer that was given them was that there is something wrong with them. I was missing to see what the doctors saw. I always wondered, “What do you mean there is something wrong with this person?”

In my beginning years, when I was working at different clinics, I would spend hours talking to the patients, asking them questions and wondering what was going on. I was stunned. Truly everything is the opposite of what it appears to be and nothing is the opposite of what it appears to be. What I found was brilliance! People who knew all kinds of things and had been going through tremendous abuse and finding their way out every time. Wrongness??? No! Definite Strongness!!!

Most of them were seekers. People who are different than their families, the black sheep, never being acknowledged for their difference and most of all their brilliance.

Years later when I had my own office at the psych ward, I was getting bored and frustrated with not getting anywhere doing things the way I was educated. I had the demand in my universe. “This has to change, no matter what it takes, either I find a different way of working or I will look for a different profession!”

Not long after that I found Access Consciousness. I was stunned by the new world opening up. I started by applying the tools on myself. I was my own guinea pig. Without exaggerating a tiny bit, I can say, my whole life changed, every part of it and I went,

“Wow, what if I apply this to psychology and psychotherapy, what would be possible then?”

One of my patients had a major depression, to the point where she had stopped talking. Nothing would create change, medication or psychotherapy. She was dying. I knew; now is the time! I went to my boss and said that I just found those tools that are incredibly dynamic. One of them is Access Bars. It is a light touch therapy on the head and may I try it on this patient. My boss being brilliant and getting the awareness of the possibility, said, “yes”.

I ran the woman´s Bars. One week later she came to our appointment and she talked! She said that she recalled being sexually abused. Nobody in her family had ever talked about this before. She asked her mum about it, having the awareness of sexual abuse come up and her mum confirmed. The door was open. From that day on change for her and her life just kept expanding.

After that I used the tools of Access Consciousness, the Bars and bodywork continually in mental health and things that are supposedly not changeable over a lifetime of therapy or with medication changed.

I am thrilled to invite the world greater possibilities! Imagine a world where people acknowledge their capacities!

The man who came up with the diagnosis ADHD acknowledged a couple of month ago on his deathbed that this diagnosis was a made up one and not real. Have you heard that in the media? It´s not been mentioned a lot. Why? ADHD is one of the diagnoses that are in vogue right now. I have tons of doctors who transferred patients to me for ADHD psychological surveys. And who wants to know that the very thing that is taking up lots of time and money is not real? This reality is truly entertaining!
What if mental health were about possibilities and empowering people to know that they know? What if people could have Access to the tools that truly create change?

After years of playing with the Access tools I created Pragmatic Psychology, using the Access tools and applying them to psychology and psychotherapy. Pragmatic Psychology, Practical Tools For a Better World. My work is now play! How does it get any better than this?

There are telecalls and classes available. The first book is now available Pragmatic Psychology- Practical Tools for Being Crazy Happy!

What do you know? What if you could use your crazy and use it to create change for you and the world?

Let´s play!

Hi Susanna,
Gary mentions during his classes and a recent telecall how he worked with a woman who had Bi-Polar. I wonder if there is more info recorded/written about it? Or do you have some ideas how I could facilitate my brother who has it.
I am so grateful how you help shift our current point of view of Psychology.

There is more information about Bipolar in the Access core classes Foundation and Level one and also in my new book, Pragmatic Psychology- Practical Tools For Being Crazy Happy, available on Amazon, Barnes and Nobel and the Access shop. How great that you are willing to be such a contribution to your brother! If you connect with me on facebook, you can let me know if the information you find is helpful and if you have more questions! With joy, Susanna Mittermaier
